STARTING RATE: $23.00 hr. ($23.00 - $25.00 hr. dependent upon experience.)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to conduct treatment procedures which aim to improve a patient's day-to-day functioning despite impairment or limited mobility. This position is also responsible for preparing equipment for treatment and occasional clerical duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Conduct treatment procedures

* Prepare equipment for treatment

* Clerical duties as needed

REQUIREMENTS:

* New York State Occupational Therapist licensure

* Current CPR certification

* Physical strength to lift between 50-100lbs

* Able to collaborate with a wide range of health care disciplines, as well as offer insight to patient and family members

* Possess thorough knowledge of the educational and therapeutic values of occupational therapy, as well as the procedures and principles of administration, organization and management

* Strong written and verbal communication skills
