Job Description:
The salary for this position is $65,000-$75,000 annuallyThis position requires you to work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum between the ages of 2-4 years old if you are hired for the Pre-School. If you are working at the Day School, the ages are 5-22 years old. The hours at the school are from 8:00 am - 3:30 pm Monday-FridayJob Summary & ResponsibilitiesQSAC is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist (OT) to work with children and young adults. This opportunity is located at our Bronx Day School.The OT will follow a treatment plan/IEP goals developed to improve, develop, restore, or maintain opportunities for active participation in self-maintenance, work, leisure, and play for the students we support. OT's will also provide education and training to Occupational Therapy Assistants.ResponsibilitiesTreatment Plans & Supervision
  • Direct service according to a written treatment plan/IEP that the OT develops
  • Recommend modification of treatment approaches to reflect the student's changing needs
  • Develop appropriate plans for the students being supported
  • OT's will provide collaborative education and supervision services to promote best practices and professional growth to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant
Communication & Administration
  • Communicates and interacts with other team members, school personnel, and families
  • Develop and maintain a daily schedule, which includes sites, students/classrooms and other activities/duties
  • Maintain and records accurate records and documentation
  • Maintain high standards of confidentiality, attendance, and flexibility, while working cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees
Qualifications and Work Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program required
  • Current New York State OT license to practice required
  • Experience working with people with autism highly preferred
  • One to three years' experience working as an OT in a related setting preferred
  • Vaccination required
