Job Description:
We are hiring a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) to join our dynamic care team at Northwood Rehabilitation & Health Care Center in Lowell!Working with our team and residents will give you purpose in your professional and personal life.As a COTA, you assist in the provision ofassessment data and direct treatment to a general rehab caseload under the direction and supervision of an Occupational Therapist and participate in clinical program development.Education & Experience: Associate degree in occupational therapy assistant from an accredited program.CEUs per state licensure requirements.Current licensure by the applicable state agency.Two (2) years of clinical experience preferred.New graduates welcome to apply! Duties & Responsibilities: May perform additional assigned administrative duties as directed by the Rehab Program Manager.Under a physician's order, provides direct resident treatments in accordance with an established plan of care.Contributes to team meetings and decision-making processes as defined by the program.Consults with and trains patients, residents, and caregivers.Monitors efficiencies on an ongoing basis in collaboration with supervisor.Documents activities according to the company's clinical documentation system on a timely basis.Demonstrates consistent knowledge and application of Medicare and other reimbursement regulations.Participates in clinical program development and implementation.May perform additional duties as requested by supervisor.Participates in quality improvement activities.Responsible for service and operational excellence of all assigned activities. Specific Requirements: Ability to function effectively in multi-faceted systems and interact effectively with all levels of staff and customers.Strong oral and written communication skills.Strong organizational and analytical skills.Ability to stand and walk for significant amounts of time.Ability to perform documentation needs, manipulate equipment, and provide direct patient care.Requires intense attention and concentration.Ability to cope with periodic stress associated with changing census and staffing demands.Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.Ability to deal with a wide range of personality types, ages, and diverse cultural backgrounds.Ability to articulate and comprehend the English language.
