Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant - Mental Health Unit

Shift: PRN as needed

A C.O.T.A is responsible under the supervision of a Occupational Therapist for conducting the Occupational Therapy program in accordance with a physician order. To evaluate and conduct the program focused on promoting mental health and well-being in all clients. To restore, maintain and improve the function and quality of life for people at risk or affected by mental illness through the use of specific group and individual treatment approaches.

Responsibilities

* Collaborate and consult with multi-disciplinary health care team

* Plans and conducts individual and/or group interventions

* Contribute to the assessment and/or evaluation process as required

* Employee is responsible for completion of communication tasks and activities in a timely manner. This would include, but is not limited to: responding to email, voice mail and maintains accurate and timely documentation of clinical records.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Associate degree in occupational therapy

* Certification by NBCOT

* Current license in the state of Iowa

Preferred Qualifications:

* All MHU positions require MOAB and BLS upon hire

* 1 year work experience in a related field

* Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred
