The Certified Pharmacy Technician aids pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical care services to patients by assisting in the preparation, dispensing, record keeping, and transporting of medications for all patients including the following age groups: neonatal, pediatric, adolescence, adult, and geriatric. Under minimal supervision, this role performs the required duties of a technician at a high level of proficiency, demonstrating exemplary work behaviors and ownership for the success of the work area.This position also learns, performs and completes assignments/responsibilities assigned during the transitional duty period.
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Current certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) OR valid ExCPT certification provided by the National Health Career Association
Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy
By virtue of societal trust and security explicitly imparted to pharmacies for the control of drugs, candidate/incumbent must have a clean criminal record (i.e. no felony conviction; no drug or pharmacy related convictions, including misdemeanors; no denial, suspension, revocation, or restriction of registration or licensure by any State Board of Pharmacy)

VCU Health Outpatient Pharmacy is recruiting for a full time, rotating, Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) for our retail pharmacies. Locations may include Discharge Pharmacy/Meds to Bed Program, ACC Pharmacy, Employee Pharmacy and Adult Outpatient Pavilion Pharmacy. Hours range from 7 AM to 7 PM, Monday through Friday and 9 AM to 5:30 PM on holidays and weekends. Applicants are required to be PTCB certified and hold a Virginia Department of Health Professions Pharmacy Technician license.
