Job Description:
Advocare Ridgewood Medical is in search of a conscientious, caring, team-oriented certified medical assistant to join our small practice.Our practice is unique because we have both pediatrics and adult medicine.We currently have one full-time adult general physician, one pediatrician and 2 MAs.We are looking for a FT or PT medical assistant to join our group.The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for providing high quality direct patient care and assisting providers and other clinical staff with patient care and other clinical and administrative duties. They need to competently and skillfully perform all clinical and clerical functions including, but not limited to: vital signs, electronic documentation, screening tools, lab/specimen prep, point of care collection and processing, filing, processing records, answering phones, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments and processing referrals. Must provide age-appropriate care in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the patient served.Advocare, LLC is a partnership of the top doctors in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, including pediatricians, family practice and specialists.   • Completes a broad variety of administrative tasks and clinical duties including but not limited receiving, and directing phone calls, scheduling visits, ensuring successful completion of all forms
  • Preparing patients for examination by performing physical tests, taking vitals
  • Preparing treatment rooms for clinical examinations
  • Delivering attention, compassionate support, and assistance to patients and families
  • Ensuring compliance with all healthcare regulations including HIPPA, OSHA, etc.
  • Aides staff, physicians, and other faculty as needed
  • Performs additional job-related duties as assigned
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficient in administrative tasks
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and digital record systems
  • Ability to communicate effectively and verbalize ideas
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands and demonstrates the highest level of customer/client service and response
Education and Experience:
  • Medical Assistant Certification or Registration required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • One year of prior experience in a medical setting preferred
