Brandon Lakes Animal Hospital is seeking a
skilled Veterinary Technician to join our awesome team. The ideal candidate
must be experienced in running sick/urgent care appointments, in-house cytology, client discussions/education, and have a mid to advanced skill level. They will need to have experience with
ICU, assisting in surgery,
placing IV catheters, be able to do
anesthesia monitoring, drawing blood and running in-clinic bloodwork, taking x-rays and proper positioning, being comfortable with dispensing and administering medications prescribed by the veterinarian, and being confident and excited to work beside the veterinarian and the other team members. Requirements
- Certified / Licensed Veterinary Technicians are encouraged to apply!
- Experience in ICU (treatments, fluids, and knowledge of medication dosages)
- Skilled at IV catheter placements
- Strong anesthesia monitoring
- Working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment
- Solid understanding of animal behavior and healthcare
- Experience with proper animal handling and restraint
- Passion for working with animals and their owners
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Positive team player willing to continue to learn
