UHS is currently recruiting for our Market CFO for our Acute Care operations in our South Carolina / Florida region, based out of Wellington, FL. This region includes Aiken Regional Medical Center, Wellington Regional Medical Center, Lakewood Ranch Medical Center, Manatee Memorial Hospital and other entities that are part of our acute division.

The CFO - Market Acute oversees the financial operations and performance of the region and works in close partnership with the Group VP and the SVP Finance for our acute Division. Plans, organizes, and directs the Market's finance departments, including the development, interpretation, coordination, and administration of policies on finance, accounting, insurance, financial/accounting systems, internal controls, admitting and utilization review. This position is a critical thought partner to the GVP on the development and execution of integrated delivery network strategies which will drive long term success in the respective region.

The job responsibilities will include:

  • Oversees the Market's accounting, business office, materials management, medical records, information services, and other departments as assigned. Through department heads and supervisors, monitors market performance. Establishes communication systems to inform and be informed as needed.
  • Supervises the market's financial reporting process. Supervises the preparation of reports outlining financial position and operating profit and loss statement. Supervises the preparation and timely filing of federal, state, hospital association, third party, and other financial reports as required.
  • Maximizes market operational performance. Analyzes the profitability of existing operations, product lines, contractual agreements, etc., making recommendations when appropriate for improvement.
  • Manages and develops employees. Through appropriate management practices, creates a climate to motivate employees to highest performance. Establishes direction, coaches employees, provides feedback, and builds commitment.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • To be considered for this role, you must possess a working knowledge of GAAP, Medicare and Medicaid regulations, and federal and local tax regulations; knowledge of all business office and other administrative office operations including all processes from registration to cash collection; knowledge of managed care and other payer processes and agreements, including specific terms for negotiation are required; knowledge of all accounting processes including accounts payable, payroll and general accounting and effective ability to prepare financial statements and operating reports that accurately and timely reflect the entity's performance.
  • Must be skilled at interpreting the abstract pieces of financial analysis and performance; preparing schedules and reports, using source data and compiling reports from others' schedules; skill in use of electronic spreadsheets and ability to manipulate data within proprietary and acquired data bases; adept at skillfully communicating ideas and facts, packaging information and concepts in a way that increases understanding by others.
  • You must possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other closely-related field and a minimum of 8 years of relevant progressive financial experience with a healthcare organization. The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or other closely-related field, with a minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience within an acute care setting.
