The Client

We are thrilled to be partnering with a dynamic PE-backed solar + energy storage developer that is catalyzing the clean energy transition with their commercial and utility-scale applications.

With over $300M in funding and a plethora of projects in the pipeline, the business is looking for a dynamic, hands-on CFO to lead on all things project, strategic, and corporate finance

The Role

As the company embarks on an exciting phase of growth, we are seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to steer financial strategy and operations. The CFO will work closely with the CEO to shape the company's strategic direction and will be ultimately responsible for the Finance function (including FP&A, accounting, strategic finance, project finance, and capital raising).

Emphasizing the importance of project finance, the role will entail training and developing a strong team + nurturing relationships with existing/perspective investors and Board Members.

The CFO will collaborate with all departments within the company to implement insightful analysis and forecasting, intended to facilitate improved decision-making and accountability. With projects close to commission and others in the pipeline, the role will require a hands-on approach, with the CFO taking full responsibility for establishing robust financial controls and processes/systems that support scalability.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with the CEO to develop short and long-term strategy
• Lead on all things project finance, including debt/equity raising for project development
• Face off to Private Equity investors and Board Members in an investor relations capacity
• Develop Pitch Decks and own the end-to-end fundraising process for future funding rounds
• Own the development and improvement of financial models to support fundraising rounds
• Build relationships with the wider leadership team and implement the necessary KPI s and metrics to support decision-making
• Oversee the implementation of financial controls, tax, and compliance processes
• Ensure the implementation of systems are fit for purpose and scalable
• Build, train, and mentor a strong finance team
• Continuously act as a leader for the wider business often supporting on Operational, Legal and People projects

What you need:

• Project Development Experience
• Experience taking a business through a scale-up journey
• Excellent communicator and team builder
• Strategic thinker

What we d like to see:

• Investment Banking or Big 4 Accounting experience
• Experience raising debt/equity for project development
• Experience in a climate tech startup

Package: $280,000 - $330,000 + Bonus + Generous Equity/ Share Options + Benefits Package
