Job Description:

Our industry-leading client is seeking a Sr. Sustainability Consultant. This role reports directly to the Chief Sustainability Officer and provides subject matter expertise on sustainability practices. In addition to supporting the implementation of sustainability strategy, this position will have a heavy focus on strategic communications, change management, and internal stakeholder engagement. This role requires extensive experience with corporate communication.

Rate: $65 - $75 / hr. w2

Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage an integrated strategic communication plan in support of sustainability goals coordinating with key partners including Marketing, Employee Communications, and Human Resources.
  • Write, design, develop, and execute tactical and strategic internal and external communications, including PowerPoint presentations, executive talking points, website copy, articles, video scripts, and sustainability reports.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to manage communication saturation, adjust approaches to address issues/risks, and leverage learnings to inform future planning and overall effectiveness.
  • Partner with various business units to design and deliver materials to build and increase sustainability knowledge across the enterprise
  • Develop and maintain a content repository.
  • Manage content reviews and edits with the Sustainability Team and key partners.
  • Lead change efforts by supporting the design and implementation of a structured change strategy to ensure readiness and adoption of programs or initiatives.
  • Ensure successful execution of change management plans including communications, leadership enablement, training, resistance management and implementation readiness.
  • Proactively identify, track, and resolve change risks and issues.
  • Design and develop initiative specific communication plans, aligned to the Prosci change management approach.
  • Develop and implement a stakeholder engagement strategy.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to identify communication and change management needs.
  • Support requests from executives and other business partners in the development of sustainability presentation materials or talking points.
  • Serve as project manager for communication and change initiatives.
  • Supports the Sustainability team in coordinating multiple projects and maintains project documentation.
  • Tracks project milestones to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Ensure delivery of projects by managing vendor relationships and deliverables.

Experience Requirements

  • 3 - 5 years relatable experience developing strategic and tactical communications and executing change
  • Experience collaborating with global teams in varying time zones
  • Experience designing and writing communications in a fast paced and highly collaborative environment
  • Experience designing training curriculum
  • Broad Sustainability/ESG knowledge and the ability to engage with leaders across many different industries on related topics.
  • Experience working in the insurance industry is a plus but not required
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with experience creating content for all organizational levels
  • Excellent design and copywriting skills, proficiency in Adobe InDesign software
  • Excellent creative presentation design, PowerPoint skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience driving large enterprise-level programs requiring extensive change management
  • Prosci Change Management Certification or other formal Change Management Certification
  • Proactive problem-solving mindset with ability to clearly identify and implement solutions
  • Ability to think strategically, exercise independent judgement, take initiative, prioritize, accurately complete multiple tasks, and to work under deadlines and changing priorities to drive results
  • Proficient in standard documentation tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint) and adaptable to new tools
  • Outstanding intrapersonal and stakeholder communication skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with key partners
  • Strong listening skills to understand stated and unstated needs

Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
