Responsibilities Job Summary: This position is responsible for providing emotional and spiritual support through pastoral care services to patients their families and hospital staff as a member of the Spiritual Care Resources Team. The Chaplain utilizes appropriate pastoral ministry approaches to support patients residents and family members during a period of illness injury or grief. - This position is responsible for assisting the Director in providing emotional and spiritual support through pastoral care services to patients their families and hospital staff as a member of the Spiritual Care Resources Team. - Provides spiritual care that respects diversity and differences including but not limited to culture gender sexual orientation and spiritual/religious practices.
- Facilitates logical reflection in the practice of spiritual care.
- Formulates and utilizes spiritual assessments in order to contribute to plans of care.
- Understands and utilizes the problem solving process for patient and resident caseload.
- Maintains current documentation on patient and resident caseload and record keeping responsibilities.
- Manages and submits weekly reports of assisting patients family clergy and staff with spiritual care needs.
- Networks with community clergy on a continuum of spiritual care.
- Develops coordinates and facilitates public worship/spiritual practices appropriate to diverse settings and needs.

Qualifications Required Education and Experience:
- Completion of or working towards Clinical Pastoral Education preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Theology Behavioral Science Ministry or a related field desired
- Master's Degree preferred
- One (1) year of experience as a Healthcare Chaplain in a hospital and/or long term care facility preferred
Required Licensure and Certifications:
- Ordained Christian Ministers preferred
- Certification in NACC (National Associate of Catholic Chaplains) or ACPE (Association for Clinical Pastoral Education preferred
- Evidence of ongoing education following graduation preferred
Required Minimum Knowledge Skills and Abilities :
- Strong interpersonal skills required. Understanding of the grief process crisis intervention and group dynamics
- Must possess the ability to complete spiritual assessments document plans of care as well as provide and evaluate service.
