Our mission is to Serve Kentucky's Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity andproviding compassionate care.The Charge Nurse (RN) position is responsible for caring for the residents of Thomson-Hood Veterans Center.Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Supervises professional ancillary employees in the administration of efficient nursing care of residents and makes recommendations to the Nursing Administrator and Nurse Shift Supervisor.
- Assesses, plans, intervenes, and evaluates care of residents. Participates in care planning process.
- Participates in all aspects of direct care including responding to emergency situations.
- Monitors medication passes and treatment schedules.
- Participates in staff education and serves as a preceptor in new employee orientation.
- Reassigns staff according to resident acuity. Preforms other duties as required.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS:Must have two years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE:A bachelor's degree in nursing will substitute for one year of the required experience.
