Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Charge Nurse to join our long-term care team. The Charge Nurse will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our residents and ensuring that our facility operates smoothly. The ideal candidate will have a strong nursing background, excellent leadership skills, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of our residents.Responsibilities: Clinical Leadership: Provide clinical leadership to the nursing staff on your assigned shift. Oversee the delivery of care to residents, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and is in compliance with state and federal regulations. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and update resident care plans. Medication Management: Administer medications as prescribed and monitor residents for any adverse reactions. Ensure accurate documentation of medication administration and resident response. Assessment and Documentation: Perform assessments of residents' physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs. Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records and documentation. Staff Supervision: Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). Provide guidance and support to ensure proper care is delivered. Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies, assess the situation, and take appropriate action to ensure resident safety. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals as needed in emergency situations. Quality Improvement: Participate in quality improvement initiatives, helping to identify and implement best practices. Ensure that infection control protocols are followed diligently. Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, their families, and other members of the healthcare team. Report changes in resident conditions to the appropriate parties. Compliance: Maintain a strong understanding of all relevant regulations and ensure compliance within your area of responsibility. Assist in the preparation for and participation in regulatory surveys and inspections. Qualifications: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN). CPR certification. Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience, with 5 years in long-term care preferred. Strong clinical skills and knowledge of geriatric nursing. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership and supervisory experience preferred. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Understanding of and commitment to resident-centered care.
