JOIN OUR TEAM AS A CHARGE NURSE!The Charge nurse consistently leads the unit to which they are assigned. They must have a strong foundation of clinical knowledge and skills on which to base judgments and decisions, organizing abilities to direct nursing tasks and operations, and interpersonal skills to facilitate communication and the work of others. The charge nurse assumes ownership and accountability of their assigned unit.Core Functions and Competencies:Partners with the CNO or designee, Nurse Manager/Program Director and Milieu Coordinators to ensure that the operations and flow of the unit are coordinated and timely.Facilitates coordination of patient care activities; e.g., collaborates with providers, social workers, case management, fellow nurses, and other disciplines.Consistently attends and contributes to the Treatment Team.Identifies the priorities for patient care management.Makes and posts appropriate assignments of patients to staff and all patient care related activities at the start of the shift.Facilitates admissions and discharges in a timely manner and completes all associated paperwork. Addresses noted deficiencies.Checks the completeness and accuracy of patient treatment plans routinely. Continually updates and revises plans as changes occur in the patients condition.Ensures that restraint / seclusion paperwork is completed in a timely and accurateNote: The core functions and competencies of this position are not limited to the duties listed above.Your Experience Matters What were looking for:Education: Graduate from an accredited program of professional nursing required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.Experience: A minimum of three (3) years experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility is preferred.Licensure: Currently licensed to practice by the Georgia State Board of Nursing.Additional Requirements: Must pass a medication administration exam before administering medications.
