Job DetailsLevel Experienced Job Location Chase Oaks Church - 241 Legacy Drive - Plano, TX Position Type Full Time JOB SUMMARY: The Full-Time Video Specialist will be responsible for the live and produced video offerings for Legacy Campus related to Chase Oaks Church weekend services and other video-based projects that fall under the Production Department. They will also act as the Director / Editor / Producer / Shooter for various post produced pieces, including (but not limited to) music videos, live recuts, and promos. The Video Specialist will build and lead a team of volunteers to support all video needs, and develop resources to train others in using equipment and producing video at Chase Oaks Church. They will also need to provide expertise regarding live broadcast configurations, editing workflows, and related fields such as integration, maintenance, problem solving, editing, color grading, etc.. All Production staff must work together, cross-train, and spend time assisting on all manner of projects. A successful candidate is someone who has excellent communication skills and can coach with kindness while being coached with a growth mindset. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • As Live Broadcast Director, utilize a team of volunteer camera operators
  • Edit and post produce primarily music-related projects
  • Manage and schedule volunteer team for the Legacy Campus
  • Develop volunteer team leads to lead the weekend service in the Video Specialist's absence
  • Create documentation on best practices for camera operation, video direction, and maintaining the Chase Oaks Look
  • Attend all assigned on-site and virtual meetings relevant to production
  • Facilitate production needs for all approved events
  • Learn and develop skills in all aspects of live and production
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot computers, sound, lighting, and video systems
  • Be available to work flexible hours
  • Be available during Christmas and Easter seasons for additional work hours to accommodate extensive preparation and set designs and/or to set up teams for successful execution
JOB PROFILE:SPECIFIC SKILLS / STRENGTHS
  • Must understand broadcast video infrastructure, interfacing, and concepts (ex. SMPTE 2110, SDI, HD SDI, Ross Video, Grass Valley)
  • Must understand RED cameras regarding interfacing, concepts, and operation
  • Must understand video editing with Premiere Pro and how to edit and grade
  • Must understand Media Operational Workflows such as interdepartmental SOP's as well as utilizing automations such as Media Encoder's watch folders for efficient deliverables
  • Has strong working knowledge of setup, install, and management of Windows/MacOS operating systems and the hardware associated
  • Must understand private networking for signal and data transport
  • Must understand ProPresenter 7
  • Must be experienced with terminating/installing audio, video, and/or lighting cabling
  • Must be experienced in audio and lighting equipment in live venues and post produced projects
  • Requires the ability to multi-task and work independently to complete assignments
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to interface with the Chase Oaks staff, guests, members, contractors, and vendors
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work in a fast-moving environment
  • Requires the ability to deal with non-routine matters, such as special projects
  • Has strong organizational skills
  • Must be comfortable with and understand responsible use of power tools, ladders, and testing equipment
EXPERIENCE DESIRED
  • 5+ years of experience of live directing
  • 5+ years working in editing and/or postproduction.
  • Working in church/worship environment
EDUCATION DESIRED
  • College degree in a technical field desired but not required with extensive experience
  • Ross/AVID or other AV Industry certifications desired but not required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • There are no employee supervisory responsibilities.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to speak effectively and understandably on the phone. The ability to effectively present information and respond to common inquiries regarding the Chase Oaks technical environment is also required. High attention to customer service.
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Strong working knowledge of Apple computers and operating systems
  • Understanding of computer networking
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Outlook calendaring, and email
  • Basic knowledge of Excel
  • Data entry skill & experience
  • Familiarity with databases
