DescriptionAt Argosy Cruises, we sell fun and have fun doing it. We offer daily tours of Elliott Bay and the Ballard Locks to Lake Union, as well as charters for weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, and more. Every day we show up to work excited about showing off our beautiful city and taking people on adventures.We are hiring crew members to begin work in February.The ideal recruit for this position is someone who loves chatting with new people and thrives in a fast-paced environment, but is also a motivated, self-starter who takes initiative during slower times. Your daily duties include engaging with the public one-on-one to answer questions and promote sales, making boarding announcements and interacting with courtyard guests over the microphone, assisting guests with boarding and disembarking boat tours, using our ticketing system to make and edit guest reservations, answering phones, selling gift shop items, and other duties as assigned.Harbor Team members rotate through the positions of Check-in Agent, Boarding Agent, and Courtyard Ambassador throughout the day. They also cross-train as Reservationists in our ticket center, and provide coverage there.Candidates must be adaptable, willing to work inside our ticket center or outside in our courtyard and on our docks as needed. Candidates must also be willing to transport to our South Lake Union location and other special event locations as needed.Responsibilities
- Actively create sales opportunities by engaging with guests and presenting tour options and upgrades
- Use your fun and engaging personality to advertise our products to a wide audience over a PA system
- Check-in ticketed guests prior to boarding the boats
- Coordinate queuing and boarding of guests
- Ensure guests are safely able to navigate the pier, floating docks, and ramps
- Assist ADA guests down ramps in accordance with Argosy's safety procedures
- Perform light janitorial duties
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of customer service experience
- Successfully pass a post-offer background check.
- Ability to fluently speak, read, and write in clear English
- Ability to competently perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply and divide)
- Intermediate computer skills with knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook-Email, Tasks, Calendar
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds
- Ability to push and pull wheeled objects up and down steeply inclined ramps
- Manual dexterity to handle tickets, tablets, radios, and other equipment
- Required to work in variable weather conditions/work environments, including outdoors
- Ability to navigate docks, piers, ramps and ship decks
- Requires long periods of standing and walking to various locations as needed
- Requires significant walking up and down ramps of varying angles and between facility locations
