The job description for a patient access representative will include communicating well with members of thepublic and accurately recording data. Responsible for providing quality and efficient customer service to our patients.POSITION REQUIREMENTS:Check-in
Greet patients and their caregivers on arrivalCollect accurate information such as patient demographics and insurance informationRelay information to relevant staff membersCollect copays and balances as required or instructedAssist patients with questions, concerns, and issuesGive out appropriate paperwork including but not limited to face sheet, MIPS, and PHIOther duties as assigned by manager, leads, or other superiors to limit downtimeEnd of DayBalance daily transactionsAdd up all receipts and balance with monies received for the dayWrite deposit for monies collectedPrint out daily transactions and reportsRequirementsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience in a clerical position preferredHigh school diploma or equivalentKnowledge of medical terminology and insurance plans is beneficialProficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry systemsKnowledge and understanding of billing and payment procedures, rules & regulations of contractual and non-contractual insurance carriersAbility and understanding of how to use ICD-10, HCPCS, and CPT coding books and or applicationsAbility to multitask and maintain strong attention to detailAbility to speak clearly and concisely with pleasant attitude, and present a neat appearancePERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:Compassionate and patientProfessional demeanorExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsStrong administrative and organizational skillsListens well and devotes full attention to patients and medical professionalsMaintain confidentiality
