DescriptionNystrom & Associates, Ltd. is a team of mental health and substance use disorder professionals that specialize in psychiatric evaluations, substance use disorder treatment, clinical social work, and family therapy. Our Residential Treatment Centerwill be opening around August, 2021 and we are looking to bring on two full-time positions as a Chef/Cook to prepare and manage the food service for residents.General hours for this position are: Part-time - Hours: 10:00 AM - 6:00 PMRationale: The Food Service Worker is knowledgeable of and competent in the management and operation of the kitchen. They work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team in an inpatient setting, as well as with support staff within Nystrom & Associates, Ltd., in a collegial fashion. Responsibilities:• Prep and prepare facility meals in accordance with menus; making allowances for clients medically approved special dietary needs.• Maintain an on-going inventory of food items monitoring usage.• Make recommendation as to when and how much needs to be ordered.• Assist the Lead Cooks establish and enforce an effective tracking system to recognize and prevent product loss.• Monitor the number of meals served on a daily basis and quality of food items used. Provide statistical break down by department as needed.• Maintain the kitchen and food preparation area to meet the highest standard of cleanliness in accordance with Department of Health requirements.• Assist with Special Events meal planning and preparation as needed.• Assist in serving meals after preparation.• Assist with generating the charge back costs to individual departments and outside organizations as needed.• Effectively assist in the training and supervision of staff in the absence of the F.S.C. and/or F.S.L.C. Meet and greet all clients in a professional and courteous manner.• Maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relationships with co-workers and supervisors. This would include, but not limited to such actions: conflict resolution in a professional manner; courteous treatment of staff, visitors and clients; respect of others property and person and appropriate communication to and about co-workers and supervisors.• Support the mission of The Harbor Light Center by treating every client and colleague with individual respect and dignity, and without discrimination of any kind.• Perform all other duties as assigned or at management requests.Requirementsob Requirementob RequirementThe position of line requires standing, reaching, stopping, kneeling, bending, push and pull movements during the majority of a shift. Occasional lifting up to 50lbs is required. Line cooks should be physically able to perform all jobs/tasks associated with all aspects of store operations.1. Must be 18 years of age or older.2. High school diploma or GED. 2-yr degree in CD Counseling or related field preferred3. Must be free of problematic substance use for at least one year immediately preceding employment and must sign a statement attesting to that fact.4. Must have First Aid and CPR Certification on date of hire according to 245G.10 Subd. 5., and maintain certification throughout employment5. Meet all DHS and SLF program requirements.6. 1-year practical quantity/high volume cooking experience and/or food service certification from an accredited program.7. Must be familiar with quantity food preparation, the use of commercial kitchen equipment and able to perform proper sanitation practices.8. Must have good communication stills, and work well with clients of diverse cultural and socioeconomic groups.9. Must be able to work as a team member, take direction, be trustworthy -10. Ability to maintain confidentiality.11. Ability to convey a positive and professional image.12. Current Mantoux test. (Annual requirement thereafter, or as deemed necessary by the department of health)13. Must be able to pass DHS Background Check.
