Located on eighty rolling acres, in picturesque Rappahannock County, Virginia, Blue Rock is a new take on the classic country inn. Breathtaking views overlooking a Koi pond set against a backdrop of vineyards and the Blue Ridge Mountains, create the perfect environment to have a glass of wine, delicious dinner, or throw a dream wedding.

We are seeking a energetic, friendly and highly motivated individual with a passion for providing exceptional customer service who is ready next step in their career and assist the Executive Chef in leading the team. We strive for total guest satisfaction by delivering the highest quality food and drink using the freshest ingredients available in a setting that is warm and inviting. Our service is honest, warm, professional, welcoming and detail-oriented. This position is best for a culinary professional who is looking to eventually operate his, her, or their own restaurant and business one day. It can be someone who already has similar experience, or is ready to take the next step in their continued growth. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and assist the kitchen staff in all aspects of culinary operations
  • Oversee daily service and consistently exceed guest expectations
  • Evaluate products and dishes to ensure consistency with high quality standards
  • Handle all ordering needs for the Kitchen and rotate stock effectively
  • Train and develop hourly and salaried employees, fostering a positive growth environment for all individuals
  • Manage budgets and the financial operation of the kitchen, ensuring that it functions as a successful business
  • Menu creation with the oversight of the Executive Chef

Qualifications

  • 4+ years' of culinary or kitchen management experience in an upscale dining atmosphere
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
