Our restaurant is a new and captivating dining concept in Brooklyn - Cobble HIll, blending the sophisticated elegance of French culinary techniques with the bold, rich flavors of Middle Eastern cuisine. We are seeking a visionary and skilled Chef de Cuisine to lead our culinary team and bring this innovative vision to life. This role is an exciting opportunity for a culinary artist passionate about merging cultures on the plate and creating memorable dining experiences. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership qualities, deep expertise in Middle Eastern and/or French cooking, and a dedication to quality, creativity, and precision.

Key Responsibilities

As Chef de Cuisine, you will play an instrumental role in defining the guest experience by curating and executing a menu that exemplifies this unique fusion of cuisines. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Menu Creation & Consultation

  • Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to bring their culinary vision to life, offering input on seasonal ingredients, sourcing, costing, and streamlining prep processes.
  • Design dishes that merge French culinary techniques with Middle Eastern spices, producing a menu that surprises and delights, showcasing both cultures' culinary depth.

2. Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, inspire, and manage the kitchen team to ensure that every dish meets Our restaurant's high standards.
  • Foster a collaborative, positive work environment that encourages teamwork and skill development.
  • Mentor and train kitchen staff, ensuring high performance, consistency, and professional growth.

3. Quality Control & Consistency

  • Maintain a strong emphasis on food quality, presentation, and flavor profiles to ensure every guest enjoys an exceptional dining experience.
  • Uphold consistency in both taste and appearance, reinforcing Our restaurant's commitment to excellence.

4. Inventory & Cost Management

  • Take charge of inventory and supply management to support cost-effective purchasing and reduce waste.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure seamless kitchen operations and menu availability.

5. Hygiene, Safety, & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety regulations, creating and maintaining a spotless kitchen environment.
  • Oversee proper sanitation and food handling practices, promoting a safe workspace for all team members.

6. Collaboration with FOH Team

  • Work closely with the FOH team to provide a seamless dining experience, offering insights for wine pairing and menu highlights.
  • Participate in the collaborative efforts to create a harmonious dining atmosphere, working with FOH to balance timing and service flow.
