- Ensuring promptness, freshness and quality of dishes
- Maintain proper food safety requirements
- Coordinate cooks' tasks and scheduling
- Implement hygiene policies and examining equipment for cleanliness and efficiency
- Design new recipes, plan menus, and execute presentation
- Review staffing levels to meet service, operational, and financial objectives
- Hiring and training kitchen staff, such as cooks, food preparation workers and dishwashers
- Perform administrative tasks, taking stock of food and equipment supplies, and doing purchase orders
- Setting and monitoring performance standards for staff
- Obtain feedback on food and service quality, and handle customer/ client problems and complaints
- Purchase food and supplies from vendors approved by the company and monitor inventory
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of managerial restaurant experience
- References of culinary background required
- Computer knowledge including Excel
- Maintains a positive attitude Keep a clean and polished appearance
- New York City Food Handler's Certificate is a plus
