SHIFT EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES FOR THIS POSITION - 2nd

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Performs correct and timely completion of production functions.

  • Performs production functions. Performs processes according to Company standards, procedures and specifications
  • Uses equipment & raw materials are according to Company standards, procedures and specifications.
  • Completes related paperwork, reports, and support functions.
  • Performs work in accordance with the production schedule provided by scheduling personnel. Informs supervisors of any significant problems, issues or concerns. At higher skill levels, creates work orders for equipment repair activities.

Performs production functions in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

  • Follows established production procedures and instructions. Specifically, loads raw materials (monomers, initiators, solvents, other additives) into vessels and uses distributed control system with sensors (flow meters, pressure and temperature gauges) to convert raw materials in a batch operation, makes necessary adjustments as required.
  • Follows quality and safety standards. Specifically, wears proper personal protective equipment when required and performs lab tests to determine raw materials and finished products meet documented quality standards.
  • Meets production deadlines. Specifically, follows production schedule and performs assigned production duties within established cycle time guidelines. Notifies supervisory personnel of causes for any deviations from standards.
  • Performs activities to clean, secure, and maintained work areas. Specifically, cleans up after raw material loading activities (sweep, mop, dust), returns tools to proper storage locations and an maintains assigned work area(s) with proper visual process control documents (Kanban).
  • Completes production records and inventory transactions. Specifically, updates process documentation (cooksheets, batch tickets) as work processes are completed. Updates raw material inventory using computer software (SAP).
  • Peforms activities in a team-based setting, and communicates issues and production status using proper business etiquette with supervisory personnel and other team members.

Completes other duties as required or assigned.

  • Completes special projects as assigned.
  • Assists in other areas as needed.
  • May participate in team activities, such as rescue team, 1st Aid team, Spill Response team, VPP Auditor, continuous improvement teams
  • At highest skill level, may perform activities of direct supervisor as assigned
  • Attends meetings as assigned
  • Move waste from generation point to 90-day Storage Area
  • Properly close and label waste containers using NB Coatings procedures

Training:

  • General Employee Training (Annual)
  • Hazardous Waste / RCRA Training (Annual)
  • DOT General Awareness Training (Every 3 years)

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATION

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Technician certification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 3 years chemical manufacturing experience. Experience with polymer or reaction chemistry preferred.
  • Fork Truck Certification
  • HAZMAT training (Hazwoper, etc) or experience preferred

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Must be clean shaved(mustache allowed) below upper lip for respirator use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision and the ability to focus. Must be able to distinguish color.

Employee experiences constant interruptions and inflexible deadlines. The noise-level in this environment is moderate to loud. Duties are performed mostly indoors. Out-of-town travel required as necessary for training and or to carry out duties and responsibilities.
