A Responsible Care company, Aurorium follows the highest regulatory standards across all manufacturing facilities.Description: The Chemical Operator position is responsible for performing all duties associated with the manufacturing of chemical products at the Del Water Gap, PA facility. This role will be responsible for batch processing including charging material, processing batches, monitoring and recording data, loading, unloading and cleaning equipment, packaging product, maintaining a safe and orderly work area and assisting other production and related areas as needed. Rotating 12 hour shift work is required.Role Specific Responsibilities:Complies with company Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures, and arrangements.Reports all Health, Safety, and Environmental accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly.Acts in a safe and responsible manner at all times.Performs duties associated with batch processing and overall chemical manufacturing for the DWG site.Ensures workplace safety by practicing and following all site safety policies, guidelines, and procedures.Operates chemical equipment including reactors, pumps, stills, centrifuges, dryers and other manufacturing equipment with proficiency.Properly weighs, measures, blends, and checks liquid and chemical raw material to assure batches manufactured contain proper materials and quantities.Handles disposal of all hazardous waste properly and in accordance with policies to ensure compliance.Achieves production needs and goals consistently while making efforts to minimize product waste and downtime.Maintains the cleaning and upkeep of department equipment.Adheres to all Vertellus Standard Operating Procedures.Operates forklift to move and stack raw or finish goods.Maintains detailed records and documents shift information daily.Performs daily activities independently with minimal supervision while maintaining communication with the Shift Supervisor.Assists in cross-training team members and co-workers as needed.Understands and executes Emergency Response procedures to mitigate unplanned events.Maintains outstanding housekeeping.Observes loading process to ensure accurate completion.Samples containers and delivers samples to the Quality Lab for testing/analysis.Works indoors and outdoors (potentially extreme temperatures) and with chemicals and chemical waste products, some of which can be hazardous.Works with a team to organize tasks - rotating job functions and coordinating break times.Performs additional duties as assigned/required.Education and Qualifications:High School diploma or equivalent required.Experience Desired:1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing plant preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Self-motivated and ability to work within a fast-paced environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Demonstrated strong analytical and critical thinking skills.Ability to climb ladders and stairs (up to 8 stories).Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to work in a team environment within a multi-functional, organizational structure and exhibits robust interpersonal skills.Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive, physical work such as lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 pounds.Embodies the core values of Aurorium:Credible: keeps their word and honors their commitments, acts with integrity, and holds themselves accountable to their decisions and actions.Outcome-oriented: adheres to an unparalleled standard of excellence in everything they do, to deliver results with real impact.Driven: passionate about delivering authentic, world-class experiences that engage customers and inspire greatness.Empowered accountability: empowered to achieve common goals and accountable for delivering performances and results that exceed standard.If you have the energy, drive, and passion for joining the Aurorium team, we would love to hear from you.
