Summary:
The Chemical Operator will apply various technologies to test and modify manufacturing machinery and equipment. Additionally, they will be required to operate chemical packaging and/or processing equipment, such as the production of Cyanoacrylate adhesives, photopolymer resins, and various other chemical blending. In addition, the successful candidate will start at the basic level of operations as a chemical operator and can progress based on skill set and ability to perform at the different levels of the chemical operator position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Showing good personal safety practices are followed on Chemence property, including but not limited to FDA, OSHA, and EPA.
- Understanding how to obtain safety information on various chemicals.
- Responsible for daily lab manufacturing activities which include setup, in process, and post process handling and monitoring of all reaction's intermediates, and products. Includes but not limited to following routers and written/verbal instructions.
- Demonstrates cGMP, GLP, and FDA requirements are being followed. Includes recording and verifying accurate information is reported on all documentation.
- Makes suggestions for improvements to routers, work practices, and areas.
- Keeping equipment and glassware fit and ready for use in a timely manner.
- Reporting chemical and supply inventory shortages in a timely manner.
- Handling, transferring, and confirming all inventory items.
- Proper handling of all waste materials. Understanding the differences between various types of waste, storage locations, and personal protection requirements. Instructing other departments about safety and handling when required.
- Proper handling of all chemicals presents on the Chemence property.

- Able to handle and participate in special projects when assigned.
- Willing to be self-motivated in the continual improvement of the work environment and personal performance.

Qualifications, Education, and/or Experience Required:
- At least 3-years' experience in Manufacturing or Production experience.
- High School education or equivalent.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Basic skill, knowledge, and ability with the use of Microsoft Office Software
Language Skills:
- English required, bilingual (Spanish) a plus.

Physical Demands:
- Position requires walking, standing for prolonged periods, occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. May frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Non-temperature-controlled warehouse, non-temperature-controlled production floor, temperature-controlled office.
