Purpose:
- To lead the operation of the CVD Beam Coating System, Chemical Delivery System and Environmental Control Systems to ensure optimum performance and cost-effective operation.
- To define standard parameters and operating practices and direct their implementation to ensure continual world class operation of these systems.
- To direct troubleshooting and process improvement process while manufacturing coated glass for the production of solar cells.
- To provide technical solutions and recommendations to maintain a cost driven, and high-performance operation of coated Glass products.
Responsibilities:
- The Chemical Vapor Deposition Engineer must lead and direct the operation of the CVD Beam System, Chemical Delivery System & Environmental Control System for the production of Coated glass for Solar Cells processing at Carlisle, PA glass plant.
- Responsible for developing and installing practical engineering solutions to process problems in the new CVD operation. Authors and updates specifications for the CVD beams system, chemical delivery system & environmental Control system and works closely with other CVD Engineers and Tank Department Engineers.
- Ensures and follows safe storage, handling and operational control of all CVD precursor materials in strict accordance to industry and company standards.
- Regularly analyzes process data and operational parameters, defines operational targets, defines standard conditions and sets process standards by analyzing historical process data, and customer requirements, for the Chemical delivery System, CVD beam system & environmental control system to ensure a high performance of coated glass produced at the Carlisle facility.
- Oversees trouble shooting, root cause investigation and process improvement management, required to develop sustainable solutions product quality concerns, with the focus on maximizing performance and maximize yield index, while developing a cost-effective operation.
Qualifications:
- Safety, Quality and Productivity of the CVD Beam Coating System, Chemical Delivery System and Environmental Control System
- Data collection and database creation for Benchmarking and analysis
- Data analysis and correlation studios for specific requirements
- Implementation of process improvements at coated glass processing
- Participation and assistance on focus groups and interacting with different areas, such as, sales, marketing, R&D, operations, manufacturing, to address float glass furnace requirement
- Assistance with training
- This position requires a BS/Engineering degree or at least three years equivalent chemical process engineering experience. Proven human relations skills and the ability to communicate effectively in all media and at all contact levels is essential.
