We are seeking a coatings Chemist with experience in products such as polyurethane, polyurea, foam, epoxy, elastomer, and polyaspartic products for use in the manufacturing processes at our Rhino Greenville, Texas location.

Major responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:

  • Formulates, compounds, prepares, evaluations and tests all new Rhino products according to set procedures with the aim of maintaining quality and integrity of product.
  • Interprets test results and performs detailed scientific analyses as required to successfully commercialize new Rhino products. Responsibilities include: Formulation, preparation, testing, data gathering, analysis and reporting.
  • Maintains lab equipment and infrastructure used for production.
  • Provides Data Support for Technical Literature – develops the information that is included in product data sheets and other technical marketing literature.
  • Provides technical assistance to internal and external customers by way of phone, via E-Mail, and on-site, as instructed.
  • Partners with other internal departments to resolve product issues as they arise.
  • Ability to spray product samples for QC.

Qualifications:

  • BS in Chemistry with 5+ years formulating experience in a laboratory setting, preferably working with polyurethanes.
  • Incumbent must have experience in coating products such as polyurethane, polyurea, foam, epoxy systems, elastomer and polyaspartic products.
  • Experience in quality management and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands on work experience in successfully contributing to the resolution of polyurethane quality issues.
  • Incumbent should have extensive formulation and lab experience and be capable of taking new formulations from the lab to production and to commercial success.
  • Strong computer and written/verbal communication skills with ability to convey technical issues clearly and effectively with all levels
  • Hands on experience in paint, coatings, making batches, formulations, chemistry, product development and production.
  • Experience with polyurethanes and formulated epoxy systems.
  • Color matching and quality control experienced.
  • OSHA 40 knowledge.
