- Understands and complies with LTI's QA Program at all times.
- Follows all safety rules and regulations; utilizes personal protective equipment as required.
- Maintains assigned work area(s) in a clean, organized, and safe condition at all times.
- Washes Glassware.
- Performs all types of chemical testing, sample preparation and setting up testing equipment.
- Follows all applicable and required specifications and procedures, insuring accuracy, and compliance to test requirements.
- Ensures that the test equipment and instruments are functioning properly and in calibration prior to performing any tests.
- Assists with maintaining test equipment. This includes cleaning the equipment, performing preventive maintenance as scheduled.
- Informs the chemistry coordinator and manager whenever any equipment is found to be out of calibration or in need of repair.
- Analyzes and documents test results, consulting with the coordinator or department manager, as necessary.
- Monitors ever changing scheduled completion dates and times to insure that established schedules are met.
- Inputs required data into results module accurately and on a timely basis.
- Seeks clarification when specifications or directions are unclear.
- Assists with the proper disposal of waste and scrap materials.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree (BS) from four-year college or university, two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience and/or training in a chemistry laboratory / material testing or similar-type industry preferred, but not required.
- Computer skills required: Microsoft Office and in general comfortable working on computer.
- Desired skills but not required: Combustion (LECO), Inert Gas Fusion (LECO), Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (AES/OES) and/or Inductively Couples Plasma (ICP) analysis.
- Other skills required: Mechanical aptitude, excellent attention to detail, ability to work well in a team environment, to multi-task and to work intermittently in an up-tempo environment.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
