Salary: $61,235.00 - $104,094.00 AnnuallyLocation : Chesterfield, VAJob Type: Full-TimeJob Number: 25-00523Department: Environmental EngineeringOpening Date: 12/23/2024Closing Date: 1/19/2025 11:59 PM EasternMinimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, environmental science, or a related field, with at least three years of increasingly responsible experience in the environmental field (five years of experience preferred); at least one year of supervisory experience preferred; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to manage multiple tasks in a timely manner. The ability to work well both independently and as part of a team is essential. Must have the ability to conduct field activities in a variety of locations such as industrial, commercial and residential developments, and heavily wooded natural areas under temperature extremes and adverse weather conditions. Work requires moderate physical activity. Current valid driver's license and good driving record required. Based on the Virginia DMV point system, record must not reflect a total of six or more demerit points within the twenty-four months preceding the anticipated hire date, or one major violation of six demerit points within the preceding thirty-six months. Out of state driving records must be obtained by the applicant and presented at time of interview. Record must reflect at least three years of history and be dated within thirty days of interview date. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. Duties This position coordinates and manages the county's Chesapeake Bay Act requirements as this relates to Resource Protection Areas. This includes processing Resource Protection Area Determinations and Water Quality Impact Assessments. This position interacts with other county departments such as the Department of Utilities, Department of Health, Department of Planning, Department of Code Enforcement and outside agencies such as the state Department of Environmental Quality. This position works closely with the Development Manager and the GIS Analyst to comply with the state and county regulatory requirements for Chesapeake Bay Resource Protection Areas. This position prepares and assembles detailed programmatic information in a timely manner for reporting consistent with state and federal regulatory requirements.
