Job Description:
The Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) oversees all aspects of the accounting and financial reporting functions within the company. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and plays a key role in providing accurate financial information to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Responsibilities:
- Fund Accounting & Reporting:Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department. Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles.
- Vendor & Resource Management:Manage the activities of vendors including third-party accounting resources including fund administrators.
- Infrastructure & Controllership:Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash. Lead audits for all funds and their audited subsidiaries. Review and recommend modifications to accounting systems and procedures.
- Financial Reporting: Participate in strategic financial planning and budgeting processes. Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements.
- Technical Accounting: Ensure accuracy of financial statements in accordance with GAAP and compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Management of Accounting Team:Provide leadership, direction, and management to the accounting team. Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff
Base Salary up to: $250,000 Total Compensation Range: $500,000-$600,000
