ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITYJoin a world-class team in solving our customers' toughest challenges as our
Chief Commercial Officer. This exciting role will provide an opportunity to solve problems across several industries, including biomedical devices, industrial automation, geological and metallurgical analysis, and many more sectors that leverage the power of spectroscopy. The Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) will be a key leadership team member responsible for defining and executing the company's commercial strategy. This role will oversee all commercial activities, including sales, product management, marketing, business development, and customer service. The CCO will work closely with other senior leaders to drive revenue growth, enhance market positioning, and ensure global alignment with the Ocean's strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the company's commercial strategy to achieve revenue and growth targets. Ensure alignment with overall business goals and objectives.
- Sales Management: Lead and mentor the sales team to drive high performance and meet or exceed sales targets. Implement effective sales processes and performance metrics.
- Marketing Oversight: Oversee the marketing strategy to build brand awareness, generate leads, and support sales initiatives. Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling campaigns and content.
- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets. Develop strategies for market entry and expansion.
- Customer Success: Ensure exceptional customer experiences and satisfaction. Develop and implement strategies for customer retention and growth.
- Financial Performance: Monitor and analyze commercial performance metrics. Develop budgets, forecasts, and reports to ensure financial objectives are met.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Work closely with product, operations, and finance teams to ensure cohesive execution of commercial strategies and initiatives.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscape. Use insights to drive strategic decisions and maintain a competitive edge.

ABOUT THE CANDIDATEOur ideal candidate brings a wealth of experience and should possess the following:
- Bachelor's degree in a Science field, Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- Proven experience (15+ years) in senior commercial roles, including sales, product management, marketing, customer service and business development.
- Experience in small, scalable businesses
- Proven International experience in the United States, Europe, and Asia
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing commercial strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and manage high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Data-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary teams (especially mechanical designers and software developers) with an ability to anticipate their needs/wants during development
- Experience and drive to plan and implement team design process improvements
- Ability to deal with ambiguity, navigate uncertain situations, and drive for clarity
