Hotel Park Ave is the newest property to be operated by Lore Group, an international hospitality company that designs, transforms, manages and operates hotel and food and drink concepts in notable cities across Europe and the United States. We deliver approachable and inspired spaces to our guests from around the world – thoughtful design and interesting use of space is at the core of everything we do.

As we prepare for our refurbishment and relaunch in 2025, we are looking for a Chief Engineer to join our leadership team. As the Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the property's engineering and maintenance operations. This role ensures the hotel remains in impeccable condition, delivering an exceptional experience for our guests while adhering to safety and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities as Chief Engineer:

• Lead and manage the engineering and maintenance team, ensuring the effective operation of all hotel systems, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Develop and execute preventative maintenance programs to minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
• Oversee repairs, installations, and modifications to the building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as health and safety standards.
• Manage departmental budgets, negotiate vendor contracts, and track expenses to optimize resources.
• Conduct regular inspections of the property to identify and address maintenance issues proactively.
• Provide training and development opportunities for the engineering team, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure maintenance activities align with hotel operations and guest satisfaction.

Professional / personal qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, facilities management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering or facilities management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role, preferably in the hospitality industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, negotiate contracts, and optimize operational efficiency.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with a focus on team development and collaboration.
• Familiarity with New York City building codes and safety regulations.
• Certification in facilities management or relevant technical fields is a bonus.
