Job Description:

Located in the beautiful Darling Downs South-West region of Southern Queensland, the Southern Downs local government area is about 160 kilometres south-west of the Brisbane CBD. With bustling rural centres and quaint townships, the region is built on exceptional agriculture and farming foundations and boasts World Heritage listed national parks and recreation areas. The area is also rapidly becoming a gourmet food and wine destination and has an annual calendar full of exciting cultural and sporting events.

Southern Downs Regional Council has an uncompromised focus on ensuring the well-being of the region for its residents and is looking for a driven and innovative CEO who can help ensure Council delivers on its long-term strategic intent as well as the ongoing day-to-day requirements of the community.

As Council's senior executive, you will provide strategic direction and exceptional management across all operations and activities with the emphasis on optimising organisational efficiencies, increased community engagement, and business-wide accountability. You will also be a key advisory and support resource for the Mayor and Elected Members, Directors, Managers, and Council staff.

A contemporary thinking leader with an impressive executive-level resume and relevant tertiary qualifications, you have already proven yourself within complex local government settings where the focus was on astute financial management, direct community engagement, and applying strategic insight. The financial and career benefits offered are impressive while the lifestyle is everything you would expect from stunning regional Queensland.
