Position Description/Overview
The CEO will be responsible for the overall management of the clients of the Rochester chapter, overseeing mission and strategic development. The CEO is expected to work collaboratively developing and ensuring that the strategic direction of the organization is successfully executed. The CEO will ensure financial and operational support for the operations and services of the organization, and exercise the authority delegated by the Board of Directors. The CEO is expected to be the primary face of the organization and to serve a critical role in cultivating and maintaining a strong community relationship to sustain the health of the organization. The CEO is expected to inspire, coach and mentor employees and volunteers to ensure optimum operating effectiveness.
Responsibilities
With the Board of Directors, develops and implements a Strategic Plan for the organization which builds upon the strong reputation of the organization.
- Cultivates a strong Board willing to lead and contribute to the strategic success of the organization.
- Develops a clear, long-term vision and strategy, aligning resources and forecasting contingencies to position the organization for growth and ensure focus on critical goals.
- Actively builds networks with strategic partners and coaches' teams to foster collaboration, trust, and mutual interests, modeling transparency and teamwork.
- Upholds core values of integrity, transparency, accountability, and respect, creating a diverse, inclusive environment that respects all individuals regardless of differences.
- Understands financial and operational drivers of success, making thoughtful decisions that consider the broader impact on systems, processes, and people to influence organizational outcomes.
- Establishes accountability systems and motivates high performance, demonstrating resilience by addressing shortfalls with action plans and continuous performance feedback.
- Champions and energizes change initiatives, effectively resolving resistance through influence and engagement rather than force, fostering a culture of adaptability.
- Creates an organizational culture that treats all customers—internal and external—with respect, aligning systems and processes to anticipate and respond to their needs.
- Drive growth of the program by effectively reaching more youth through current programs and/or creation of new programs.
- Ensure safe and effective mentoring programs are delivered and contract metrics are met.
- Set effective financial direction and oversight to ensure successful financial outcomes.
- Provide leadership and effectively manage agency staff in compliance with Agency Policies and Procedures.
- Attracts, retains, develops and leverages staff talent, assuring a working environment that promotes and maintains a competent and motivated staff.
- Creates a culture that fully harnesses the benefits of a diverse Board, staff, and volunteers by encouraging stakeholders to contribute to the organizational mission.
- Acts as prime contact with funders and other community providers and other outside organizations needed to promote the work of the non-profit. Promote the mission of the organization in the community and acts as primary spokesperson for the organization.
- Promotes and participates in donor development and fundraising efforts.
- Develop and cultivate all Agency resources to enhance success and growth.
- Attend to matters of conformance related to National Organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred (e.g., social work, human services, business management, nonprofit executive management)
- Five years of experience related to non-profit or social service
- Minimum five years management experience
- Communications, both external in the form of public relations, and internal in the form of leadership around vision and mission
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
Salary Range
$110-120k
