Open to the Public Posting: 11/12/24-OUF1st Shift Monday-Friday some night and weekends based off need. Position Summary: Under the supervision of the SEG Board of Directors, responsible for complex administrative activities related to finances and accounting, marketing and promotions, resort operations, staffing, and other activities to support the business operations of all gaming properties. Manage and direct the organization towards its primary objective of profit and return on capital by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate managers.Will work collaboratively with the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino and Hotel( SELC ) Manager on all matters related to the SELC Manager. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Direct and participate in the development and implementation of the gaming business plans.
  • Develop the business strategy with the Board of Directors and communicate the business strategy to all areas of the organization. The development of business strategy for SELC shall be made with input and consultation of the Manager of the Saganing Eagles Landing Casino and Hotel.
  • Work collaboratively with support departments to ensure policies and programming support the overall business strategy.
  • Establish current and long-range goals, objectives, plans and policies, subject to approval by the Board of Directors.
  • Increase senior management's effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and disciplining senior managers; communicate values, strategies, and objectives; assign accountabilities; plan, monitor, and appraise job results; develop a climate for offering information and opinions; integrate functional objectives; provide and participate in educational opportunities.
  • Oversee the performance of staff with respect to all matters such as adherence to a corporate vision, marketing conformance to standards, department inspection, cost control, employee relations and in-service training. These responsibilities will be coordinated with the Manager of SELC Manager for the SELC taking into account matters and needs identified by the SELC Manager.
  • Meet with organization's management to ensure that operations are being executed in accordance with the organization's policies and strategic direction.
  • Develop strategies and direct systems of operations in accordance with company objectives and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor gaming rules, laws and trends nationally and seize new opportunities.
  • Establish and maintain an effective system of communication throughout the organization.
  • Collaborate with the gaming regulatory body to ensure compliance with the gaming code.
  • Ensure the professional development of reporting staff. Identify staff for projects of increasing responsibility and create a culture of mentoring and ongoing professional education.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to identify opportunities for career progression paths in each department.
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of casinos and hotels. Plan, coordinate and control the daily operation of the Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort and online gaming through the organization's directors and managers.
  • Oversee capital improvement projects; align projects with market and facility trends and prioritize based on revenue potential.
  • Prepare and present reports of staffing, finance and other related operational activities to the Board of Directors.
  • Supervise the coordination and development of statistical data such as departmental budgets and gaming trends analyses; develop a database integrated with industry standard ratios and financial statements.
  • Review records to administer budgets in attainment of profit objectives.
  • Dispense advice, guidance, direction, and authorization to carry out major plans, standards and procedures, consistent with established policies and Board approval.
  • Oversee the adequacy and soundness of the organization's financial structure.
  • Oversee the strategic direction of the brand and integrate it throughout the properties.
  • Plan and develop public relations policies designed to improve company's image and relations with guests, associates, shareholders and general public.
  • Review operating results of the organization, compare them to established objectives, and take steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results.
  • Represent the organization with all guests, shareholders, the financial community and the public.
  • Adhere to the policies of the Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort and Saganing Eagles Landing Casino.
  • Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of the Saganing Eagles Landing regarding business strategy, marketing and operations.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:
  • Contact with internal individuals throughout all levels of the organization.
  • Contact with external entities to include but not limited to the following: business organizations, regulatory agencies, governmental bodies, community organizations, academic institutions, law enforcement groups and tribal government affairs.
  • Contact with Board of Directors and Tribal Leaders.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor`s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Hospitality or related field.
  • Fifteen (15) years of combined gaming/hotel/resort hospitality experience. Ten (10) years in a managerial capacity.
  • Three (3) years senior management level at a destination resort/gaming property with over 1000 employees with Class III gaming experience.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, finance, and computer skills.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a gaming license to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Master`s Degree.
  • Destination four diamond resort gaming property and Tribal gaming property experience.
  • Tribal gaming experience.
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
  • Must have a valid State of Michigan Driver`s License, with the proper designation required for the vehicle utilized to perform the job duties, and qualify for coverage by SCIT auto liability insurance carrier. A Tribal Driver`s License will also be required if a Motor Pool Vehicle is used in the course and scope of the required job duties.
  • Native American preference shall apply to all positions.

  • Knowledge of principles and practices of public relations, brand, promotions, and marketing in a hospitality and guest service oriented environment.

  • Knowledge of the development, preparation, and control of budgets.
  • Knowledge of managerial and statistical analysis techniques and reporting procedures.

Physical Demands:

Work Environment:
  • Normal office environment.
  • Frequent walking and standing in a smoking environment and contact with the general public. Constant visual stimulation via neon lights on slot machines, repeatedly changing machine video screens, static or flashing signs throughout the casino and constant machine and crowd noise.
  • Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
  • Tight time constraints and multiple demands are common.
  • Travel will be required.
