Job SummaryThe Chief Executive Officer is responsible for the overall creating, planning, implementing and strategic direction of the agency. The CEO must provide the necessary management and leadership to run a service-oriented and fiscally sound organization and oversee the organization's growth and success. Must be a motivational, forward thinking leader who understands trends in mental health, and will position the organization for success within its external environment. The organization's main office building is located at 75 Jamestown Street, Gowanda, NY. Satellite offices are located in Buffalo, Rochester, Jamestown and Olean. The CEO's primary workplace will be in the Gowanda Headquarters office. There will be flexibility to establish a workplace (utilizing conference rooms) at any of these locations, with the understanding that they will be visible and physically present at all locations as appropriate. The CEO reports to the Board of Directors.Essential FunctionsThorough awareness and understanding of all programs currently contracted by the agency.Peer status, as someone who shares the experience of being in recovery from a mental health and/or substance use condition. Lived experience.Commitment and strong understanding of Peer Advocacy, Peer-Run Services and trauma informed care.A proven track record in a senior leadership role with significant supervisory experience including peer supervision.Possess the skills and knowledge to read and understand contracts/grants and writing grant applications.Experience working in a Non-Profit environment.Experience leading multiple site locations and servicing stakeholders with diverse views and opinions.A compassionate, empathetic and collaborative leadership style.Seek and be open to future opportunities for the Agency growth.Develop annual budget in conjunction with the CFO/Business Director and monitor actual expenses against budgeted expenses.Work with Human Resource Director to decide hiring and supervision of staff and evaluate staffing patterns for optimal effectiveness.Secure and provide resources to provide quality services that integrate with Supported Housing, Community Support programs, Hospital Diversion programs, Medicaid services and other programs aligning with the vision of the agency.Increase awareness of mental health and strive to reduce the negative stigma and stereotypes associated with mental illness and willing to assist in any task as directed in order to fulfill the position expectations and responsibilities. Ability to work with diverse constituencies.Understanding of fund raising and how to diversify revenue sources.Attend meetings / workshops representing the Agency in a professional manner.Ability to form partnerships within communities that make up ROME's service area, including urban, rural and suburban communities/cultures.Maintain a presence in all ROME offices; primary office space in Gowanda HQ.Significant travel (50%-60%) is required both regionally and across New York State, some national travel.Strategic Planning experience. Evidence of skills demonstrated by the ability to perform all of the basic functions within each program; including but not limited to maintaining a calendar, sending e-mail, creating letters as well as the ability to create and edit workbooks; including but not limited to creation of formulas, tables and graphs. General office equipment is used including fax/copy/scanning machine, computer and phone system.Physical Demands And Work EnvironmentThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The noise level in the work environment is usually light.Education & ExperienceBachelor's Degree in Business, Communications, Human Services or Psychology with minimum three years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. (Masters preferred)Experience in leading multiple site locations and servicing stakeholders with diverse views and opinions.Must have a valid Class D Driver License, reliable transportation and automobile insurance ($100,000-$300,000 Liability).Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesMust be a self-starter with strong communication skills and ability to lead and influence others in a positive way.Must be able to think strategically, operationally and culturally to benefit all aspects of the agency.Must represent the agency in a professional manner at various meetings with State, County, and Private agencies.Must be competent to create and deliver presentations to outside organizations for existing, new, and consulting contracts.Must maintain a presence in all ROME offices.Salary Range: $110,000 to $130,000 Annual SalaryExemptClock in/out each day in our timecard system.PTO in 4-hour blocks. If you work less than 4 hours you claim 4 hours of PTO.
