The Rutgers Cancer Institute, in partnership with Korn Ferry, invites nominations and expressions of interest for the position of Chief Financial and Administrative Officer.

The Rutgers Cancer Institute is part of Rutgers Health, New Jersey's largest and leading academic health care system. Together with RWJBarnabas Health, the Rutgers Cancer Institute is one of an elite group of comprehensive cancer centers in the U.S. designated by the National Cancer Institute and the only one in the state of New Jersey. This coveted designation gives Rutgers Cancer Institute the distinction of being among the best cancer research institutions in the nation. As the Rutgers Cancer Institute continues to grow and make clinical, scholarly, and innovative advancements, the recruitment of a new Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) is imperative for the institution. A national search is underway.

Reporting to Steven K. Libutti, MD, FACS, the Director of Rutgers Cancer Institute, the Chief Financial and Administrative Officer (CFAO) serves as the Senior Leader for Administration and Planning of the NCI-designated comprehensive cancer center. Serving on the Executive Leadership team and playing a pivotal role in both the governance and decision making of the Institute, the CFAO will provide financial reporting to RBHS and Rutgers University as well as advice regarding the strategic positioning of the Cancer Institute to optimize business development and entrepreneurial opportunities. They will ensure fiscal solvency, economic well-being, and administrative and operational efficiencies across all mission elements, and will be an organizational steward who represents and supports the mission, philosophy, and goals of the Cancer Institute.

Through effective planning, financial oversight, evaluation, management, and administration of the Cancer Institute, the CFAO will further enhance the Institute's research, education, and outreach environment and goals. Strategic management driving total operating budget development, clinic operation integration, research administration and operations, human resources, technology, space development and allocation, fundraising, marketing, building and grounds, research programmatic development (in conjunction with research leaders), academic appointments and promotions, and academic affairs all fall under the CFAO's purview. This new leader will work to increase the value of the Institution and the Consortium to members and is committed to positioning Rutgers Cancer Institute as a model among NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Centers.

Rutgers Cancer Institute places great value on being a diverse and inclusive community, therefore, the CFAO will advance a culture of fairness, opportunity, and excellence by ensuring organizational accountability to the Cancer Institute, University, and System goals for diversity, equity, and inclusion, and driving a DEI strategy locally. Further, the CFAO will be a highly respected leader, who is committed to the operational, financial, and administrative success of the Cancer Institute, and exemplifies qualities of excellence, integrity, compassion, belonging, and trust.
