Job Description:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of Minnesota Truck Headquarters. The CFO will be responsible for financial planning, managing financial risks, and ensuring the overall financial health of the dealership. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of financial management in the automotive industry.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Strategy:
    • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the dealership's growth and profitability.
    • Prepare and present financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans.
    • Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and summaries.
    • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and dealership policies.
    • Present financial reports to the owner/CEO, Leadership Team, and other stakeholders.
  • Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs and strategic investments.
    • Optimize the management of working capital, including inventory and receivables.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control:
    • Develop and manage annual budgets, including departmental budgets and capital expenditure plans.
    • Implement cost control measures to enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
  • Risk Management:
    • Identify and assess financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
    • Ensure proper insurance coverage and compliance with financial regulations and laws.
  • Financial Operations:
    • Oversee accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
    • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions.
  • Team Leadership and Development:
    • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
    • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.
  • Strategic Initiatives:
    • Collaborate with other senior executives to drive strategic initiatives and business growth.
    • Evaluate potential mergers, acquisitions, or partnerships to support the dealership's expansion goals.
  • Experience Required:

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. MBA or CPA is preferred.
    • Proven experience as a CFO or in a senior financial management role, preferably within the automotive industry or a dealership environment.
    • Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting.
    • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
    • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and execute financial plans effectively.
    • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
