We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Direct Hire! You will help develop and execute the company's strategy and direction.
The Chief Financial Officer position is accountable for the administrative, financial, and risk management operations of the company, including the development of a financial and operational strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the ongoing development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.
Principal accountabilities are:
Planning
Assist in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiativesMonitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plansDevelop financial and tax strategiesManage the capital request and budgeting processesDevelop performance measures that support the company's strategic directionOperations
Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management teamMaintain in-depth relations with all members of the management teamManage the accounting, family relations, legal, tax, and treasury departmentsOversee the financial operations of subsidiary companiesSupervise the finance/accounting, related leadership developmentManage any third parties to which functions have been outsourcedOversee the company's transaction processing systemsImplement operational best practices for accountingOversee employee benefit plans (health, disability, life, retirement, etc.) including compliance/reporting with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefit packageKeep up-to-date records on corporate structure, Board resolutions, annual meeting minutesFinancial Management Information
Oversee the issuance of financial informationPersonally review and approve all financial reports and external filings with 3rd partiesPerform analytics and benchmarking to identify improvement opportunitiesReport financial results and share profit enhancement ideas with the Board of DirectorsOversee the year-end reviewed financial statement processOversee tax affairs of the CompanyRisk Management
Understand and mitigate key elements of the company's risk profileMonitor all open legal issues involving the company, and legal issues affecting the industryConstruct and monitor reliable control systemsMaintain appropriate insurance coverage (workers' comp, liability, property, casualty, auto)Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirementsEnsure that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agenciesReport risk issues to the audit committee and/or board of directorsMaintain relations with external auditing bodies and investigate their findings and recommendationsFunding
Monitor cash balances, cash forecasts, and working capital needsArrange for debt and equity financingInvest fundsOversee retirement plans and investment of related assetsPlay a lead role in all banking/financing relationshipsHandle all government grant applications and oversee related reporting requirementsThird Parties
Participate in dealings with all the economic development community representativesMaintain banking and accounting/consulting firm relationshipsRepresent the company with investment bankers and investors when and if appropriateFamily Related Roles
Oversee estate and succession planningFacilitate communication among family members on business issuesDesired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration, CPA preferredMinimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in a financial executive roleExperience in partnering with an executive team, and have a high level of written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of GAAP, financial analysis, costing and internal controlsEstablished ability to lead, develop and manage direct reportsStrong detail orientationAble to multi-task and use exceptional organizational skillsStrong relationship and presentation skillsPreference will be given to candidates with significant relevant finance experience in a manufacturing setting, MBAs trained in Finance, Certified Public Accountant or Certified Global Management Accountant designationsAdditional Qualifications:
Ability to fulfill an interim controller role in the event the business experiences a temporary gap in having this position fully staffedSalary: $120,000/yr
