Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and mission-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO)/Senior Accountant to lead the financial operations of our Community Health Clinic. This role is pivotal in ensuring the clinic's financial sustainability while supporting its core mission of providing quality healthcare to underserved populations. As a key member of the executive leadership team, you will work closely with senior management to develop financial strategies that support the clinic's operational goals and commitment to community health.
Key Responsibilities
Mission-Driven Financial Strategy:
* Develop and implement financial strategies that align with the clinic's mission of providing affordable healthcare services to the community.
* Provide financial guidance to the CEO, Board of Directors, and clinic leadership on funding, budgeting, and long-term financial planning.
* Explore and manage diverse funding sources, including government grants, donations, and community partnerships, to support clinic programs.
* Ensure fiscal responsibility while supporting the expansion of services and patient outreach.
Financial Reporting and Compliance:
* Preparation and presentation of accurate financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and forecasts.
* Provide in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making, ensuring a clear understanding of the clinic's financial health and sustainability.
* Ensure compliance with all healthcare-related financial regulations, including grant reporting, audits, and government contracts.
Accounting and Financial Control:
* Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including billing, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
* Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard clinic assets and maintain the integrity of financial records.
* Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with all nonprofit healthcare financial standards.
Grant Management and Fund Allocation:
* Manage and monitor the financial aspects of grants, ensuring that funds are allocated and spent according to grant guidelines.
* Prepare financial reports for grantors, foundations, and government agencies, demonstrating accountability and compliance.
Cash Flow and Risk Management:
* Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure the clinic has the necessary resources to maintain day-to-day operations and invest in future growth.
* Identify and mitigate financial risks, including those related to changing healthcare policies, reimbursement rates, and regulatory shifts.
Team Leadership and Development:
* Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
* Support the professional development of finance staff, ensuring they are equipped to handle the unique financial challenges of the healthcare sector.
Collaboration with Health Program Leaders:
* Collaborate with program directors and clinical staff to align financial goals with patient care objectives, ensuring that financial planning supports the clinic's mission to provide accessible healthcare.
* Work closely with clinic administrators to understand operational needs and ensure resources are allocated efficiently.

Minimum Qualifications
* Strong knowledge and understanding of business and financial healthcare as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related discipline.
* Must possess a strong knowledge and understanding of financial operations with a minimum of five-plus years of progressively responsible financial leadership experience.
* Must possess three years of experience in an FQHC, RHC or multi-physician practice or medical environment at a director level or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or other related discipline.
* Prior experience working as a CFO or C-suite Officer in an FQHC, integrated delivery system or medical center.
* Experience working in all financial disciplines, including but not limited to: financial analysis, revenue cycle, budgeting, and accounting.
