Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer/Financial Controller with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the construction industry. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong background in financial management, forecasting, budgeting, and financial analysis, specifically within the construction sector. You will play a key role in driving the financial success of the company, ensuring effective financial planning, and maintaining the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives.
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
  • Manage the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, & opportunities, providing actionable insights to executive team.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and reporting requirements.
  • Lead financial planning process, working closely with department heads to create accurate and achievable budgets.
  • Oversee the management of accounting, payroll, and financial reporting systems.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the finance and accounting teams.
  • Collaborate with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial institutions.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. CPA, CMA, or MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a CFO, Financial Controller, or similar role within the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles and practices.
  • Proven experience in financial strategy development and execution.
  • Proficient in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong Computer & IT skills.
  • Experience in WIP accounting within a construction environment is essential.
