Job Description:

As the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of our company, you will play a pivotal role in driving our financial strategy and ensuring the overall financial health and success of the organization. Reporting directly to the President, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial management, planning, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and execute financial strategies aligned with the company's goals and objectives, ensuring long-term financial sustainability and growth.
  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes to provide insightful guidance to senior management for decision-making.
  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support ongoing operations and investment activities.
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analysis to senior management, the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, implementing effective controls and procedures to safeguard the company's assets and interests.
  • Compliance & Governance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and accounting standards, maintaining the highest standards of corporate governance and transparency.
  • Tax Planning & Compliance: Oversee tax planning strategies and compliance activities, working closely with external tax advisors to optimize tax efficiency and minimize liabilities.
  • Financing & Capital Structure: Evaluate and recommend financing options, including debt and equity, to support strategic initiatives and capital investments.
  • Business Performance Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Build and lead a high-performing finance, accounting, payroll, contracts team, providing mentorship, guidance, and professional development opportunities to foster growth and succession planning.
  • Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Proven track record of at least 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience, ideally within the construction industry or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of construction accounting principles, project costing, payroll, and contract management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, analysis, and reporting, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term objectives.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Hands-on experience with financial management systems, ERP software, and Microsoft Excel.
  • High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism, with a commitment to upholding the company's values and culture.
