MHC Healthcare is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join the Finance team at the Marana Main Health Center, located in the heart of Marana, AZ. Directs and oversees financial operations of the organization, including financial report preparation, summaries and forecasts for future business growth and general economic outlook. MHC Healthcare is a Federally Qualified Community Health Center (FQHC), with 17 sites in Tucson and Pima County. Our mission is to improve our Community by providing exceptional, whole-person healthcare.

The following qualifications are required:

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (MBA)
  • 8 years' experience in financial management
  • 5 years' supervisory experience
  • 5 years' experience preparing, analyzing and approving financial statements
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card through the Arizona Department of Public Safety (or ability to obtain upon hire)

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Experience with Federally Qualified Community Health Center operation (or look-alike)
  • Experience as part of senior leadership team

Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered if applicable and must be directly related to the functions and body of knowledge required to successfully perform the job.

This position has the following supervisory responsibility:

Manages and monitors work performance of a division or department through direct reports and their teams, including evaluating work objectives and effectiveness, establishing broad organizational goals, and provisioning work and staffing assignments for the department.

The ideal candidate will also possess the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Knowledge of database, HRIS, and accounting computer application systems.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes financial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives, ensuring long-term financial health and stability.
  • Establishes, monitors, and enforces internal controls to protect MHC's assets.
  • Establishes policies and procedures.
  • Identifies and mitigates financial risks, including market volatility and regulatory compliance, to protect the company's assets and investments.
  • Manages capital allocation, investment decisions, and capital structure to support growth initiatives and maximize returns.
  • Oversees the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial reports to senior management, the board of directors, and external stakeholders.
  • Defines and recommends organizational objectives.
  • Develops specific short-term and long-term plans and programs, together with supporting budget requests and financial estimates.
  • Responsible for recurring preparation of financial statements, forecasts and annual audit.
  • Provides monthly status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting and reporting financial data.
  • Reviews and approves adequate plans for the control of planned outputs, budget spending, labor efficiency, material efficiency and customer service.
  • Manages cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support day-to-day operations and strategic initiatives.
  • Schedules expenditures, analyzes variances and initiates plans to achieve or amend budget objectives.
  • Evaluates potential acquisitions, partnerships, and investment opportunities, conducting due diligence and financial analysis.
  • Develops tax strategies that optimize the company's tax position while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Builds and leads a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and professional growth.
  • Complies with Federal, State and Local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing financial reports and advising management on needed requirements.
  • Reviews and submits all UDS and Medicaid cost reports.
  • Utilizes Universal Data Set (UDS) and Medicare Cost Report to improve management decision-making and financial results.
  • Reconciles encounter reports with Medicaid managed care records and Medicaid prospective payment records.
  • Conducts contract negotiations with managed care organizations.
