Job Description:

GRITT Business Coaching has been retained by Indian Nation Wholesale to lead the search for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to drive financial strategy and operational excellence within the organization.

Stephenson Wholesale Co., Inc., dba Indian Nation Wholesale seeks a CFO who combines strategic vision with hands-on financial leadership, ensuring immediate financial control and long-term company growth. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned financial expert who is strategic, disciplined, and proactive in maintaining control over outcomes and processes, focusing on quality, accuracy, and results. As a key decision-maker in collaboration with our leadership team, the CFO will provide robust financial analysis, manage financial operations, and drive company growth. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and present financial strategies, models, and analyses to the executive team and Board, supporting strategic decision-making and operational excellence.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial turnaround strategy to address current economic challenges and set the foundation for sustainable growth. This includes cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and strategic resource allocation to improve the company's financial health.
  • Direct financial activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company procedures and overseeing legal and contract management, credit management, and tax operations.
  • Cultivate a high-performance finance team by building trust and mentoring talent, ensuring alignment with strategic company objectives and measurable outcomes. Establish and implement a formal budget process, fostering continuous improvement and alignment with the company's financial and strategic goals.
  • Oversee all financial and accounting functions, including financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, treasury management, and tax planning.
  • Manage day-to-day accounting operations, internal controls, and compliance for multiple entities and trusts.
  • Lead the evaluation of potential growth opportunities, M&A targets, joint ventures, and partnerships, conducting thorough financial due diligence to inform strategic decisions.
  • Proactively identify and capitalize on new business opportunities to diversify revenue streams, ensuring long-term financial stability and growth. Build and maintain banking and external financial relationships, negotiating favorable terms and managing compliance with financial institutions. Act as a strategic advisor, delivering data-driven insights to guide executive decision-making and shape the company's long-term direction.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive financial stabilization framework to ensure consistent financial health and long-term sustainability.
  • Collaborate with other leaders to align financial strategies with company-wide objectives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration; MBA in Finance and CPA credentials preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in senior finance roles, demonstrating a track record of financial leadership and operational acumen.
  • Work in office M-F (Typical schedule: M-Th 7:30-5:30, F 8-noon)
  • Proven track record of successfully leading companies through challenging economic environments.
  • Experience implementing cost-saving measures, improving cash flow, and driving operational efficiencies is essential.
  • Strong technical accounting skills and a deep understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, and treasury management.
  • Exceptional communication, analytical, and presentation skills, with a proven ability to lead and collaborate across functions.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and financial systems, and ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and systems as needed.
  • Possesses exceptional critical thinking and negotiation skills, with the ability to analyze complex situations and drive strategic, data-informed decisions.
  • Familiarity with CDR (Creative Data Research) software for accounting and Sage for asset tracking is strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to establish trust and foster strong relationships with internal teams, cross-functional departments, and external partners.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, high integrity, a solutions-oriented approach, and a commitment to ethical and flexible practices in a growth-oriented environment.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • The CFO will be provided with a company-owned vehicle for both business and personal use, with insurance, maintenance, and operation costs included.
  • Competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits, including Medical, Vision, Dental, Disability, HSA, and Life Insurance. The company's officers are provided with additional life insurance up to $300,000.
  • Participation in the Senior Management Bonus Plans in qualifying years.
  • 401(k) matches up to 3% of the executive's contribution.
  • Generally, office working days are 9 hours Monday through Thursday and 4 hours on Friday, as the office closes at noon on Fridays.
  • Company-provided complimentary lunches Monday through Thursday.
