Position Overview

As the CFO, you will be a strategic leader responsible for overseeing the financial operations and guiding the financial future of the credit union. You will work closely with the CEO, COO, and Board of Directors to develop and implement financial strategies that align with the organization's mission and long-term goals. The CFO will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, optimize financial performance, manage risk, and foster a culture of innovation and excellence within the finance department.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership: Develop and execute long-term financial strategies to ensure sustainable growth, profitability, and alignment with the credit union's mission and goals.

Risk Management & Compliance: Lead enterprise risk management initiatives and ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, including those of the NCUA.

Asset & Liability Management (ALM): Oversee balance sheet management, liquidity, interest rate risk, and capital planning to ensure the financial health and stability of the credit union.

Financial Reporting & Analysis: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and provide in-depth financial analysis to inform decision-making for the Board of Directors and executive leadership.

Investment Portfolio Management: Manage the credit union's investment portfolio, balancing risk and return while adhering to investment policies and regulatory requirements.

Technology & Innovation: Leverage financial technologies and data analytics to drive operational efficiencies and support strategic decision-making.

Leadership & Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team to foster a high-performance culture focused on accountability, innovation, and service excellence.

Member-Centric Financial Management: Optimize member profitability and enhance the overall member experience by aligning financial decisions with the credit union's mission.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible financial management experience in a financial institution, with at least 5 years at the executive or senior leadership level.
  • Extensive knowledge of credit union regulations and compliance, including NCUA guidelines.
  • Proven experience in strategic financial planning, risk management, and asset/liability management in a large, complex financial organization.
  • Strong leadership and team development skills with the ability to foster a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to a variety of stakeholders, including the board of directors, executives, and regulatory agencies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a deep understanding of financial markets, economic trends, and their impacts on credit union performance.
