Our client is an 8-figure roofing company located in Suffolk County, Long Island and is looking for a hands-on CFO that will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations of the company, including financial planning, reporting, analysis, and strategy. The CFO will work closely with the CEO and other senior executives to drive the company's financial performance, manage risks, and support strategic decision-making. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong background in finance, particularly in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement financial strategies, budgets, and forecasts that align with the company's goals and objectives.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and executive team.
- Financial Reporting and Compliance:
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements, reports, and analyses to stakeholders, including the board of directors, investors, and regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, laws, and standards.
- Risk Management and Internal Controls:
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to safeguard the company's assets and financial interests.
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial reporting and compliance.
- Cash Flow and Asset Management:
- Manage the company's cash flow and liquidity to support operational and capital expenditure requirements.
- Oversee investment strategies and optimize the management of the company's financial assets.
- Operational Efficiency:
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize financial operations and improve efficiency.
- Implement cost control measures and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
- Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA preferred).
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a senior financial leadership role, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulations.
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and strategy development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, including ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite. (Any experience with Viewpoint is a huge plus)
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a hands-on, dynamic environment.
