Soccer Holdings, LLC., is the parent company of professional soccer clubs Louisville City FC (USL Championship) and Racing Louisville FC (NWSL). Both teams call Lynn Family Stadium in the Butchertown neighborhood home and operate out of the nearby Lynn Family Sports Vision & Training Center. Louisville City launched in 2015 and quickly established a winning tradition, claiming USL titles in 2017 and 2018. Racing Louisville FC joined the NWSL as an expansion member in 2021, bringing top-tier professional sports back to Kentucky for the first time in nearly 50 years.SUMMARY: The Chief Financial Officer will be responsible for leading financial operations for the organization, including its portfolio of professional soccer clubs, youth academy, and other affiliated businesses.This position will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the president. The CFO will be tasked with developing a financial roadmap to increase profitability, identify revenue streams, improve cost efficiencies, and enhance risk management practices. This is a high-impact role for a strategic financial leader who can seamlessly blend analytical rigor with a deep understanding of the sports and entertainment business. This is a full-time position working on-site in Louisville, KY. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting across the holding company and its subsidiaries.
- Develop and implement a multi-year financial strategy designed to reduce operating losses and drive long-term sustainable growth.
- Collaborate with the President and board of directors to define and assess financial goals, KPIs, and critical success factors aligned with the company's vision and mission.
- Identify and evaluate new revenue opportunities, including sponsorships, licensing, media rights, merchandising, and fan engagement initiatives.
- Conduct thorough cost analyses to identify operational inefficiencies and implement processes to improve margin performance.
- Optimize working capital and cash flow management to ensure the organization's financial stability and agility.
- Evaluate the financial performance of the organization concerning long-term financial goals, budgets, and forecasts.
- Implement robust financial controls, accounting standards, and compliance frameworks to maintain transparency and mitigate risk.
- Develop and maintain a monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget.
- Prepare and present monthly financial reports; review and analyze monthly financial results and provide recommendations.
- Review the month-end closing process, including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts, and overhead cost allocation.
- Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns.
- Participate in decisions regarding strategic initiatives with the Board of Directors, Finance Committee, President, and Leadership Team.
- Serve as a key point of contact for external auditors; Manage preparation and support of all external audits.
- Represent the company to banks, financial partners, institutions, investors, and officials.
- Manage the organization's insurance coverage and legal compliance including needs for COIs, external counsel, and coverage inquiries.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information.
- Hire, develop, and manage accounting staff as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
- CPA / MBA Preferred.
- 5 years minimum experience as CFO or financial executive position.
- 10+ years total accounting or finance experience.
- Strong background in sports finance and operations, preferably in soccer or other professional team sports.
- Proven history of turning around financially underperforming businesses and driving cost efficiencies.
- Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to identify new business models, revenue streams, and growth opportunities in a dynamic market environment.
- Outstanding knowledge and understanding of GAAP.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence - ability to motivate staff.
- Excellent analytical, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
- Significant experience working with external auditors, internal controls, and compliance-related issues.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects and requests.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
- Strong computer skills, ideally with experience using Microsoft Excel and CRM software.
