Duties

We are seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead our financial operations and business office at Ottawa Township High School District #140.

Responsibilities

* Support the Mission, Vision and Board Goals/Initiatives of the District.

* Assist the Superintendent in effectively providing leadership in all financial operations of the District.

* Supervise the financial affairs of the District, including the handling of all funds, accounting, and reporting procedures.

* Ensure the proper accounting of funds received from federal, state and local entities.

* Provide financial recommendations to the Board as directed by the Superintendent.

* Complete the annual budget and tax levy.

* Monitor and authorize purchases made throughout the District.

* Prepare and assist the auditors in the completion of the Annual Financial Report.

* Manage cost management initiatives to optimize operational efficiency.

* Lead the finance team in payroll management and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

* Utilize financial software (Skyward) to streamline processes and improve reporting accuracy.

* Provide technical accounting guidance to ensure adherence to accounting standards.

Qualifications

Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA, CPA, or CSBO preferred.

Strong understanding of financial concepts, market analysis, business analysis, and cost management principles.

Excellent analytical skills with a strategic mindset for long-term planning.

Strong communication skills to present complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
