The Healthcare Career Advancement Program (H-CAP) is a national Labor/Management
organization that supports and promotes career ladder education for the healthcare workforce. H-
CAP also staffs an affiliated 501 (c) (3) organization, the H-CAP Education Association (EA),
focused on program and staff development of labor/management and union-based training
partnerships in healthcare workforce development.
We build the workforce for quality care through workforce development, training resources, and
partnering for patients and communities. H-CAP works with employers, unions, and workers to
deploy high-quality training to support the healthcare industry at a time of unprecedented system
transformation. These training programs seek to lift up workers, create a pipeline of well-trained
staff for employers, and ensure that healthcare continues to fulfill its promise as a primary engine
of the economy, both nationally and locally.

H-CAP is seeking a part time Chief Financial Officer (CFO). The CFO will be responsible for
overseeing the financial functions both of H-CAP, a 501c5 non-profit organization and the H-
CAP Education Association, a 501c3 non-profit organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for all accounting functions of H-CAP and the H-CAP Education
Association, including:
o Accounts Payable and Receivable
o Maintaining system of managing property, vendor payments, and member
revenue
o Evaluation of cash flow needs and cash projections
o Preparation of financial reports for the Executive Director and the Board of
Directors;
o Maintenance of bank records, receipts, month end financial statements,
reconciliations and closing;
Management of grant-related financial reports.
Develop and oversee the accounting database system.
Develop and maintain Accounting Policies and Procedures manual and is responsible for
implementation of required accounting policies.
Develop annual budget with Executive Director and staff leadership.
Work with staff leadership on budget tracking.
Oversee annual audits.
Responsible for the maintenance of correct procurement procedures.
Prepare financial reports for the Executive Director and/or the Board of Trustees as neede
Responsible for ensuring that subcontractor and vendor contracts are completed in a
timely manner.
Work with staff to assist in reimbursements, stipends and other financial matters.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Experience in managing financial work in a not for profit setting.
Experience with federal grant management.
Knowledge of full-cycle accounting management.
Minimum of 5 years experience as accounting manager.
Ability to operate financial/accounting software platforms
Ability to prioritize, organize manage and direct multiple projects efficiently.
Attention to detail and excellent follow-through skills.
Good judgment and ability to direct and act decisively.
Ability to work well independently or with a team.
WORKPLACE PRACTICES AND POLICIES
Location: Remote
Classification: Part Time (18-20 hours/week), non-benefited
Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 per year
Time Off: H-CAP observes 14 paid holidays. Employees will also receive 2 weeks of paid
vacation, 6 sick days, and 2 personal days per year.
Remote Work and Equipment: Employees must provide a workplace that has sufficient space
for work and allows for only minimal disruptions. H-CAP will provide a phone, laptop, mouse,
keyboard, external monitor, and devices to connect those items. Employees must have access to
a minimum acceptable internet speed of at least 25MB download speed and 10MB upload
speed.
