Commercial real estate experience required. Public REIT accounting/finance experience a plus. Excellent verbal and writing communication skills as well as analytical and organizational proficiency. Financial Management and Strategy – Comprehend the business model, mission, and vision of the company to make appropriate recommendations and financial decisions for the company as a whole. Ability to understand economic conditions and their influence or impact on executing the company's business plan and strategy. Effective communication of financial implications of the business model and strategy to others to assist them in making informed decisions.Policies & Procedures – Monitor and ensure appropriate policies and procedures related to the Accounting and Finance Department and develop new policies where appropriate. These policies and procedures are to assure accurate financial reporting, income tax reporting, audits, and interdepartmental cooperation and support of company goals.Financial Accounting and Reporting – Direct and assure accuracy of the financial accounting and reporting of the company's operations per appropriate standards. Direct the timely completion and review of annual budgets and the preparation and evaluation of performance against appropriate operating and capital budgets. Ability to analyze, interpret and communicate financial results internally to executive team and the Board of Managers. Understand and apply US GAAP in the preparation of financial statements and related footnotes for annual external audit.Accounting and Finance Personnel – Direct and supervise subordinates according to the company's policies and procedures.Analysis of Investments – Apply appropriate analysis of the company's valuation of assets, potential investments, and dispositions. Understand and apply financial analysis techniques (including internal rate of return, discounted cash flow, income capitalization, etc.) to potential and actual investments and initiatives.Fiduciary Responsibilities – Monitor and assure the financial well-being of the company and its affiliates.Loans, Financing, Equity and Capital Structure – Maintain a harmonious, professional and competent relationship with all financial and capital institutions and investors with whom the company and its various properties and entities have association. Analyze, negotiate, and arrange the financing and refinancing of various properties owned and managed by the company as well as any corporate level financing. Ensure compliance with the loan terms and covenants on financing maintained by the company. Report any instances of non-compliance to the President and the Board and take action necessary to return to compliance. Maintain contemporary knowledge of trends and opportunities in the field of finance and capital, which are in support of the company's best interests. Periodically review the company's capital structure of debt, equity and other financial instruments to assure optimum source and application of funding so to enhance returns while preserving the financial integrity of the company and its affiliates.
Capital Management – Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of industry-specific financial contracts, terms, interest rates, and capital markets to minimize and manage capital risks. Understand and implement capital raising efforts, including SEC regulated offerings and other private placements. Understand debt and equity structures, promotes, and waterfalls to maximize investor returns.
Management Information Systems – Direct, supervise and optimize the management and maintenance of the company's financial information systems.
Miscellaneous – Represent the Accounting and Finance Department in company staff meetings, Executive Committee meetings, and Board meetings. Perform other financial functions that may occur during the day-to-day operation of the corporate office. Perform special projects as assigned. All conduct shall be in compliance with the company Employee Handbook and Policies and Procedures Manual, as amended from time to time. Other duties as assigned.
