They will also set the strategy and priorities for security initiatives, work with customers as needed, and partner with Engineering leadership to support security best practices in development.What You'll DoManage the security organizationRun the internal Security Council meetings with the various Engineering teams and relevant other partiesDevelop and maintain key processes like the security incident response procedure, security vendor evaluations, customer audit responses, and production management processesPartner with the VP of Technical Operations, VPEs, and the CIO on internal security initiatives related to our production environment, source code, and internal business systemsRepresent Veeva externally with customers as neededWith the EVP Operations, serve as a staff member on the Board Cybersecurity CommitteeServe as the resident executive expert in Security for engineering and external parties as neededEvaluate and collaborate with Veeva s key external partners and vendorsRequirementsExecutive leadership experience at the VP level or higherExecutive-level verbal and written communication and vendor negotiation skillsDirect experience leading a security team in a highly regulated industryHighly developed team leadership skills, including building a positive and productive cultureExperience leading a global team with direct reports overseasFamiliarity with global security regulations and compliancePast experience as an individual contributor at the engineer level in either security or software engineeringExpertise in cloud security, especially using AWS, delivering complex SaaSKnowledge of common security and privacy frameworks such as ISO27001, SOC2, HIPAABS or MS in Computer Science or Cybersecurity, or equivalent experienceLocated in Central or Eastern US time zoneNice to HaveIndustry certifications like CISSP, CISA, CSMPerks & BenefitsMedical, dental, vision, and basic life insuranceFlexible PTO and company paid holidaysRetirement programs1% charitable giving programCompensationBase pay: $200,000 - $350,000The salary range listed here has been provided to comply with local regulations and represents a potential base salary range for this role. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range above or below, depending on experience and location. We look at compensation for each individual and base our offer on your unique qualifications, experience, and expected contributions.
